Because our industry is very small and everybody knows everybody- I will share the key words that we work with everyday and try to explain each as it pertains to our industry, us and the consumer;

  • Printer cartridges - cartridges that are used to print ink or toner- some print black only, some print color only, some print black and color. Some printers take one cartridge and some printers take four cartridges. Most everyone prints either at home or work and so almost all homes and all business have a need to recycle printer cartridges
  • Recycleable - most oem cartridges are recycleable. After market not made by oem manufacturers are not recycleable. Some cartridges have free return labels inside each box and can be shipped individually free of charge- but there is no reimbursement for cartridges that are recycled in this manner.
  • OEM - original equipment manufacture- these are cartridges that are the original manufacture cartridge and are recycleable
  • Remanufactured - these are aftermarket cartridges not made by the original manufacture and so are not recycleable
  • Compatible - these are aftermarket cartridges not made by the original manufacture and so are not recycleable
  • How to recycle - save the used cartridge in its original packaging and once you have the minimum required for shipment- call the recycle center for a pickup. We accept new/used ink/toner. cartridges that do not have their original packaging are still recycleable and can be all mixed together in a box. Ink should be separated from toner as ink can leak on toner and toner can leak on ink. So separating is requested but not required. Recycling is free and there is also a monetary return for recycling with Cartridge Recycling Center
  • Shipping - there is required minimum quantities to ship to crc because of the cost of freight, and so there is enough value over and above freight and labor to be able to pay out for the recycleables
